When anyone visits the heart of downtown Nashville, they’ll hear the live music from door to door as they pass the various honkytonks in the area known for their performing set-up. But not many would have the chance to pass someone like Keith Urban out on the street playing for tips during a typical visit.

The country superstar took his talents to the famous Music City backdrop posted on the side of Legend’s Corner to try his hand at a little busking on Wednesday afternoon, but of course, there was a slight catch. Although he may not have been trying to necessarily get a little side money, Urban played his on-the-street gig clad in a blonde wig and baseball cap to stay incognito to his audience.

Performing his hit, “Wasted Time,” off his most current release, Ripcord, Urban grooved out on his acoustic guitar while earning a few tips here and there from enthusiastic onlookers. The singer went all in with the prank, though, to shoot a quick video for Country Radio Seminar (CRS) being held in Nashville in a few weeks’ time.

“We’re doing a little craziness for CRS,” Urban told The Tennessean. “We’re just doing something a little crazy on the streets today in Nashville, doing a little busking. We made $8. It’s pretty good.”

Urban is currently enjoying some time off before performing at the 59th Annual GRAMMY Awards alongside acts like Maren Morris, Adele, Carrie Underwood and more. The show will air live on Sunday, February 12, on CBS.
