The 2016 CMT Music Awards has packed a punch with its star-studded lineup of performances, but none like the collaboration between Keith Urban, Brett Eldredge and Maren Morris.

The trio hit the stage to perform Urban’s latest hit single “Wasted Time” to open up the show. The performance is one of two for Morris, who will also sing on the Firestone Stage.

Smoke blew up the stage as the trio jammed together, creating good vibes that mirrors the song’s theme. They took turns singing different sections of the verses and choruses, making the performance look like they’ve been doing this as a group for many years.

“Wasted Time” was written by Urban and fellow songwriters John Wells and James Abrahart. Inspiration didn’t take long to catch on once an upbeat melody and a guitar riff was introduced to the session. “J suggested the title, and before we knew it, we were talking about growing up and all the things you do, no matter where you are in the world, and the song just took off from there,” said Urban when the music video was released.
