Kellie Pickler to Star in Hallmark Christmas Movie, ‘Christmas at Graceland’
Kellie Pickler will put her acting chops to the test when she appears as an executive from Chicago in a new Hallmark Christmas movie.
It’s going to be a very merry Christmas for Kellie Pickler fans as the singer is set to star in a brand new original Hallmark movie this year. According to USA Today, the singer will star in Christmas At Graceland, which is one of the 34 new holiday films set to premiere during the annual Countdown to Christmas special.
Pickler will star as Laurel, an executive from Chicago, who plans on taking over an old family-owned bank in Memphis. While in the Home of the Blues, Laurel comes across her ex-boyfriend Clay, a music promoter.
Though she tries to maintain focus of the goal at hand, Laurel is reminded of her days performing alongside Clay as they dreamed of making it big in music. With a little Christmas spirit, Laurel may end up with a change of heart and follow an old passion once again.
The romantic holiday flick will reportedly also film at Elvis Presley’s former home, as the title includes Graceland.
“Not only are we thrilled to take viewers into one of America’s most beloved private residences, home of the late, great Elvis Presley, we are also thrilled to put the soundtrack of Elvis’ legendary career behind our romantic holiday movie,” Michelle Vicary, Executive Vice President, Programming & Publicity, Crown Media Family Networks, told News Channel 3 in Memphis.
While there’s no word on when Pickler’s film will debut, the network’s Countdown to Christmas event will kick off on October 27.
