Kelsea Ballerini to Perform During Britney Spears Tribute at 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards
The 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards will be held at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater on Saturday (April 29) and will air on the Disney Channel on Sunday (April 30) at 7PM ET.
Kelsea Ballerini has quite a bit on her plate this year at the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards. Not only will the “Yeah Boy” singer host the awards, but she’ll also perform during a tribute to the first ever Icon Award recipient, Britney Spears.
The Tennessee native will join forces for a girl-power performance featuring Demi Lovato, Hailee Steinfeld and Sofia Carson.
“She’s a legend, I think she’s the queen of pop music, and I adore Britney Spears,” Ballerini said in a clip posted to Twitter by RDMA.
Spears has been a longtime influence for Ballerini, who has credited the “Princess of Pop” as being one of her inspirations.
“I definitely love pushing boundaries, and I’ve always loved strong female artists in every genre, and Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Jessica Simpson are some of my favorites,” Ballerini shared. “I probably picked up some of their performance tendencies that I put in my live show and in this video.”
In addition to her hosting duties and two performances, Ballerini is nominated for Best Crush Song, Breakout Artist of the Year, Radio Disney Country Favorite Song and Radio Disney Country Favorite Artist.
