Just hours after releasing the lead single from her sophomore album, Kelsea Ballerini made the television debut of “Legends” on the 2017 CMT Music Awards.

Donning a one-shouldered nude chiffon gown sans shoes, Ballerini connected with her fans around the outdoor square stage to create a story all her own inspired by her new single. With a sparkle in her eye, the country singer commanded the heroic track with confidence exuding through every ounce of her body.

“Legends” was released to fans after it debuted early Wednesday (6/7) morning on the nationally syndicated The Bobby Bones Show. The inspirational track was co-written by Ballerini, Forest Whitehead and Hillary Lindsey.

“’Legends’ is one of the first songs I wrote for the record and every time I’ve listened to it, I find a different meaning. It brings me back to the heartbreak I wrote it from, it makes me think of my fans and the journey we’ve shared, and now I sing it from the perspective of a legendary love story. I hope everyone hears something in it that brings them to a place of nostalgia and is as excited as I am to begin this next chapter together,” the Tennessee native said in a press release.

The song will appear on Ballerini’s upcoming second album, serving as the foll0w-up to her record-breaking debut album, The First Time. “Legends” comes after three consecutive No.1’s (“Love Me Like You Mean It,” “Dibs” and “Peter Pan”) and a No.3 smash, with “Yeah Boy.”

Kelsea Ballerini entered the CMT Awards tied as the top nominee alongside Keith Urban and Thomas Rhett. The 23-year-old earned nods in Female Video of the Year, among others.
