She finally met her match when she tied the knot to husband Morgan Evans, but Kelsea Ballerini still proclaimed that “I Hate Love Songs” during her live performance at the 2018 CMT Music Awards.

Ballerini debuted a new hairdo for the live moment, in which she hinted on her social media earlier in the day that she was looking for a little chop-chop for the main event. Looking effortlessly gorgeous with her shorter locks, it amplified the simplicity that goes along with the “I Hate Love Songs” melody.

She kept things classy for the slow waltz-inspired number, by strumming her acoustic guitar to introduce the track to the crowd. After the first lines drew the viewers in, Ballerini stepped the game up a notch when she brought out her backing band to rock out for the next few minutes on stage.

Looking at the crowd for playful encouragement while nearing the final moments of the witty romantic ode, Ballerini even told the crowd in lyric form that she truly did love them all.

The 2018 CMT Music Awards were hosted by Little Big Town, and aired live from the Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville.
