The love between Kelsea Ballerini and Taylor Swift transcends genres as Ballerini took to social media over the weeks to give Swift a song shout-out by covering her recent single, “Delicate.”

Taking away the sound of synths for the strings of a simple guitar, Ballerini put her own country twist on the pop tune but still replicated that blissful feeling that fans know “Delicate” to be. Ballerini brought the song back to the basics, in which many of her followers gushed over her talent to the impromptu playing including some very special supporters.

“love her as a human but damn do I love her as a songwriter. @taylorswift,” Ballerini wrote in honor of her acoustic cover.

Swift seemed to enjoy the rendition herself, as she left a comment for Ballerini among the hundreds of fans who cheered the country singer on for her own version of the romantic single. Calling the performance “angelic, wonderful, exquisite, lovely, excellent,” Swift surely supported her local girl gang in full force to Ballerini’s delight.

It wasn’t the only country connection Swift made to Nashville recently as the pop star surprised some lucky patrons at the iconic Bluebird Café for a simple writer’s round to celebrate the venue’s 35th anniversary. She took a stool next to hit songwriter Craig Wiseman and performed a few of her former top tracks including “Love Story” and “Shake It Off.” Making the night even more meaningful to Swift and the crowd, she gave her best shot at Little Big Town’s “Better Man,” in which she was the solo songwriter of the track.

Of course, Wiseman didn’t let her off scot-free as he convinced Swift to indulge in a Fireball shot after reminiscing on a CMT afterparty in the past where the “Tim McGraw” singer couldn’t get enough of the cinnamon whiskey.

While Swift prepares for her massive world tour coming up this summer, Ballerini continues to prep herself as she’ll hit the road with Keith Urban for the Graffiti U Tour.
