From the ‘Home Team’ to the hometown, Kelsea Ballerini and Thomas Rhett are taking their tourmate friendship to the next level by hosting the 2017 CMA Music Festival television special together.

While Rhett brushes off the dust on his title as co-host from last year with pal Brett Eldredge, Ballerini will try her hand at the duties alongside her seasoned pro friend. The two have grown closer together over the past few months as Ballerini and Rhett spent the earlier part of 2017 on the road together for Rhett’s own headlining Home Town Tour. With their final stop hitting two sold-out crowds in Nashville this weekend, the return to Music City to welcome everyone to the big stage will hold even more significance.

“We’ve been on tour together since February so I think we’ve gained a lot of really cool chemistry and become great friends,” said Rhett, as mentioned by The Tennessean. “It was so fun last year. It should be even better this year.”

Every year, ABC airs captured footage filmed at the summer music festival for a television special that combines country and concerts in one entertaining night. Highlighting some of the biggest names in the genre, CMA Music Festival hopes to be better than ever with a lineup that includes acts such as Luke Bryan, Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bentley, Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban and many more.

The 2017 CMA Music Festival will be held in Nashville from June 8-11. Tickets are still available to the festival on the CMA Fest website now.
