Kelsea Ballerini Reveals ‘Unapologetically’ Track Listing
After a week-long partnership with Fourquare Swarm, the track listing for Kelsea Ballerini's upcoming sophomore album has been revealed.
The track listing for Kelsea Ballerini’s forthcoming sophomore album Unapologetically has been revealed after a week-long partnership with the mobile app Foursquare Swarm. The app debuted clips of the 12 tracks featured on the record with Ballerini’s fans, giving them a first look (and listen!) to the track list.
“In everything I do, I love to try and forge new paths. We came up with the idea to unveil my music on Foursquare Swarm, which is something no one has ever done before,” Ballerini shares. “It definitely was unchartered territory, but it felt right.”
“Foursquare Swarm is a way for people to log their life, which is a perfect parallel to the music on this album,” she continued. “It’s a journal of my last few years – there’s a song for every mood or place my fans might find themselves.”
Among the songs on the album is Ballerini’s latest single, “Legends.” The track, co-written with Forest Glen Whitehead and Hillary Lindsey, is one that has changed meaning for the singer since it was written several years ago.
“It’s this chameleon of a song. When I wrote it, I had a laser focused vision for it. Now, I think it is a love song. It fits my life in a completely different way,” she told Sounds Like Nashville. “My favorite [lyric] is, ‘We didn’t do it for the fame or the glory, we just did it for you and me.’ I think that fits my relationship now. Then for fans it’s, ‘We wrote our own story.’ This certain group of fans, they show up for me. They fight for me. They call radio stations for me. They travel 12 hours for me. It’s a really cool bond. Those are the lines that I feel like are for them.”
