Kelsea Ballerini’s spotlight just keeps shining brighter and brighter throughout her breakout year. Adding to the list of accomplishments, the country star just found out that her debut album, The First Time, is the only female country debut album to be certified as Gold since 2014.

With huge radio hits like “Love Me Like You Mean It,” “Dibs,” and “Peter Pan” charting the album to success, Ballerini follows the notion of fellow country singer Kacey Musgraves’ 2014 debut effort, Same Trailer Different Park, for the accolade.

For Ballerini and her team, the accolade is a once-in-a-career occasion and they could not be more thrilled with the reaction fans have given to the project.“This is a great moment for Kelsea and the Black River team,” said Black River EVP Rick Froio.

“We would like to thank all of our physical and digital revenue partners. Bob Morelli, Alan Becker, and the Sony/ RED staff, thank you for believing in Kelsea from day one.”

Ballerini has achieved many of her grand feats in her career by working hard day in and day out, and she will be continuing in that pattern by heading out on her first-ever headlining tour, appropriately named The First Time Tour.

The country star is also currently promoting her fourth single off of the album, “Yeah Boy,” which hit radio recently. Fans can listen to the song on digital streaming services now.
