“As long as we’re rehearsing and I’ve got new music in the pipeline, I can’t imagine not playing a little bit,” Chesney confesses.

Just when fans thought this would be a strange summer without Kenny Chesney popping up all around the country, he decided to surprise them all with the announcement of four more tour dates to his schedule.

After coming close to selling out a whopping two nights at Gillette Stadium up in the Northeast, the eight-time Entertainer of the Year has decided to bring his live show to fans down South as well. Chesney recently announced plans to play the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater on August 4 and The Wharf Amphitheater in Orange Beach on August 5. He even added a couple more dates on the East Coast for his fans in Connecticut with two nights at the Mohegan Sun on August 10 and 11.

Although Chesney told fans earlier this year that he wanted 2017 to be more relaxed compared to his big stadium years, he couldn’t resist the opportunity to play a few songs and do what he loves for more than just two shows.

“As long as we’re rehearsing and I’ve got new music in the pipeline, I can’t imagine not playing a little bit,” Chesney said recently. “I know that it takes time off to create and make records… to write and find songs like ‘American Kids’ and ‘Noise,’ but that doesn’t mean I don’t miss the fans. There is nothing that feeds me more than hearing the sound of the No Shoes Nation singing these songs, seeing those faces and knowing this is gonna be one of those nights.”

Sponsored by his liquor brand, Blue Chair Bay Rum, the shows are expected to explode with excitement during the later summer month as Chesney hopes for a crazy turnout for the dates.

“We’re gonna bring a whole year’s worth of energy,” Chesney said. “So if you’re coming, you better be ready for it, because this is our chance in 2017 to rock.”

General sale tickets for the new shows added to Chesney’s list will go on sale on Friday, April 14, at 10 a.m. local time.
