Kenny Chesney Announces New Album Title on ‘Good Morning America’

Kenny Chesney spread the love for his early morning fans as he appeared and performed on the highly popular morning talk show, Good Morning America, on Friday (July 8).

Amid many headlines going around with his Pittsburgh concert, the hosts of GMA got right down to business as they talked to Chesney about what’s been going on.

“My audience, the thing we’ve built over the years is full of positive energy, it’s full of love. It’s a lot of the ‘Spread the Love’ Tour,” he clarified to the crowd.

The hosts also got the scoop on why Chesney decided to push his release date for his new album from July 8 to October 28. They hinted that the planned duet with Pink had something to do with the change.

“The main one [reason for pushing the album back] was because my friend Pink agreed to do this song with me and it turned out really great and I’m very proud of it and it’s gonna come out in a couple weeks, I think,” Chesney said.

The country superstar also revealed another change for the new record. “The new music … feels like a cosmic hallelujah, that’s the word that came out, so that’s actually gonna be the title of the new album.”

In a press release issued after his GMA appearance, the Tennessee native further explained the new album title.

“The more I listened, the more these songs’ energy– especially ‘Setting The World On Fire’ – took hold,” Chesney said. “Some Town Somewhere is a great title, and it’s every single one of us. But then there’s how the album fits together, and even expands on what the last album did. So, I could go with what was already in place, or I could grab the title that felt the most right.”

“In the end, these album titles are around for a very long time. I really try to have titles that give people a sense of what the music is, and what the album is all about. There sure is a lot of Some Town Somewhere for sure, but really when I pulled back and listened: these songs are all about taking The Big Revival to the next level; that level is Cosmic Hallelujah.”

Chesney then performed hits like “American Kids,” “Save It For a Rainy Day,” and his current single, “Noise,” for the Central Park audience.

Fans can see Chesney live themselves as he is currently on his Spread the Love Tour throughout the summer with tour mates Miranda Lambert, Sam Hunt and Old Dominion. Dates for those shows are able to be seen on Chesney’s website HERE.
