While country stars are busy touring the country, many have little chance to truly experience the cities they are visiting. Much of the day is spent with sound checks, meet and greets, and many other things to keep the wheels on their careers rolling forward, but when the opportunity to travel off the clock arises, many jump at the chance.

Recently, the “king of the summer” Kenny Chesney made a trek to the country of Italy, where he enjoyed some much needed time to himself.

“There’s a lot of places that I’m curious about. I love being a tourist. I went to Italy this past year and I loved it because I love to eat,” he said with a laugh. “I love red wine so it was a lot of fun. I grew up loving cheese, (laughs) tomatoes… All that’s in Italy. I love it and red wine. I love being a tourist when I can be.”

The singer will continue to enjoy some more well deserved time off with the exception of a handful of tour dates this fall.

“We’re gonna bring a whole year’s worth of energy,” Chesney said of his limited run. “So if you’re coming, you better be ready for it, because this is our chance in 2017 to rock.”

The singer recently announced plans to play the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater on August 4 and The Wharf Amphitheater in Orange Beach on August 5. He even added more dates on the East Coast for his fans in Connecticut with two nights at the Mohegan Sun on August 10 and 11. He’ll hopefully hit the road once again in 2018 and bring his iconic live show to fans nationwide.
