Kenny Chesney Gives Fan A Memorable On-Stage Kiss

Kenny Chesney

Saturday night was a pretty great one for Kenny Chesney. The superstar set a new record at East Rutherford, New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, selling 58,642 tickets and becoming the highest selling country artist of all time in the state of New Jersey. While the Tennessee native’s night was one for the record books, it was also a memorable one for a very special Kenny Chesney fan.

Mid-way through his performance of “I Go Back,” Chesney high-fived a young woman in the crowd. The fan, who has Down Syndrome, yelled up to Kenny and asked to come on stage with him. He obliged and pulled her up onto the stage and gave her a hug. What happened next was absolutely touching.

The young woman told Kenny she wanted to say something into the microphone, so he handed it over to her and she announced to the massive crowd, “I just want to let you know… Kenny Chesney is my true love. He inspires me, and right now, I want to kiss him on the lips. Do you want to see it?”

Admitting he was a bit embarrassed, the 8-time Entertainer of the Year accepted her request saying, “Okay, let me wipe the sweat off.” He then laid a big kiss on her lips.

Afterward, he high-fived her once again and thanked her for coming, but it was clear that she had something else on her mind. She asked him for the mic once more, so the “Save It For A Rainy Day” singer handed it over.

“His music got me through the toughest times. His music inspires me. The reason why I want to be on the stage was because my grandfather’s dream was to see me up here, to sing with Kenny,” she said. “Do you want to see me sing more with Kenny Chesney? Because I’ve been doing it for 24 years…”

The audience erupted with cheers and Chesney said, “This is the reason we write songs. Right there!” He then brought her over to his mic stand and sang “Wild Child” with the young woman by his side.

A few audience members captured the special moments on camera. Watch below.
