Like many other artists, Kenny Chesney has paved his own way from playing county fairs in the middle of nowhere to selling out football stadiums like no tomorrow. But with each new venue presents another challenge for Chesney to take on in his stage presence.

While fans may think that every concert is just another show, it takes the right amount of attention and energy to deliver an incredible performance that fans will never forget. Chesney has come to find that each date played channels a different vibe than the night before and he has to adapt to his tour environment no matter where he goes.

“It’s two different animals, playing a smaller venue and playing a football stadium. It took me awhile to mentally prepare myself to do my job in a football stadium. It took me awhile to mentally cover the room, if that’s what you want to call it (laughs), you know, because I was so used to playing…when I first started, it was me and a guitar, a tip jar, and then I went on the road with Alabama, and then I went on the road with some of these acts, and all of a sudden, I was in an arena, and I had to get used to that. And then, all of a sudden, I was doin’ it myself, and then we went from the arenas into the amphitheaters into the stadiums, and it’s just…it’s just a different animal. But it’s something that, when it’s magic, it’s great. When you can make a football stadium feel like a club, there’s no better feeling than that,” Chesney said.

Although Chesney just wrapped up his huge summer Spread the Love Tour, he’s already looking forward to the future by announcing that he will be the headliner for the Tortuga Music Festival in Florida next year. While he may be able to take some time off in between to relax and enjoy some down time, Chesney is one who loves the stage life and will do anything to connect with his fans on that level.

The Tortuga Music Festival will be held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on April 7-9, 2017. More information and details about the festival can be found on the event’s Facebook page.
