Some may say that 2015’s tour of the year went to Kenny Chesney. So how does he plan to top the last round of shows? In Chesney’s eyes, the challenge is surely accepted and completed.

Chesney will embark on the Spread The Love Tour 2016 starting in late April, with fellow artists Miranda Lambert, Sam Hunt and Old Dominion on board for the journey. Hitting cities from Seattle to Philadelphia, the tour will continue to expand and add dates along the way. Some shows will also feature another surprise artist in Hunt’s performance slot.

Fans will be expecting the best of the best from Chesney after earning the only country artist spot on Billboard’s Top 5 Touring Acts of 2015, and he doesn’t plan to disappoint. In fact, he’s been planning for greater things for a while now.

“What people don’t see about these tours is when they’re coming into the stadium that last month, we’re already thinking about how we’re going to rock the fans, really take them places next year,” Chesney explained.

In order to figure out how to one-up his big 2015 tour, he left it up to the incredible response he got from his fan base, No Shoes Nation.

“This year, the No Shoes Nation was at a whole new level in terms of the energy they threw at us. Every night when the screen would drop, when they’d hear the music, they almost knocked us back a few feet,” said Chesney.

Keeping the fans’ wants in mind, Chesney wants to focus more on the music than hiding any tricks up his sleeve. He plans to go for a pure experience over any radical stunts on stage.

“It spoke pretty loudly to me as we were looking at renderings, thinking about the tricks. Because in the end, it was the music and the moment they were responding to—not the flying, not the lasers, not the videos, but the songs,” he said.

Maybe this year will not only continue the tour of the year streak for Chesney, but also add along the year of the fans.
