Summer lovin’ had ‘All the Pretty Girls’ in Kenny Chesney’s new music video acting rebellious and free while school was still out of session.

Just like any young love adventure starts, a few girls and a few guys escaped to the outskirts of town to live out the best day they could imagine. Filling their time with the wild wonders of house parties, bonfires and dancing, the romance quickly followed a few couples as they made their flings official with a kiss.

Chesney left the filming business up to students at Belmont University and Middle Tennessee State University, who were called upon to enter some of their work for his latest single in order to earn the opportunity to be featured on all platforms. Jessica Martinez, a motion pictures major, and Will Renner, a music business student, co-directed the chosen short film and put their own nostalgic spin of falling in love during the summer months.

“Our vision was to capture the essence of a summer fling – just the feeling of freedom and having fun, not taking things too seriously,” Martinez said of the treatment. “Because Will is from Virginia, he was able to get people he knows from high school (to be part of it), which made it really fun to shoot.”

After many considerations by Chesney, he selected their approach to the lighthearted single and they won the coveted prize of having their work debuted on CMT. They also walk away with $5000 toward their tuition through a special scholarship created by the country singer and his team. This marks the first major project they’ve worked on for someone in the entertainment industry, and Chesney hopes the experience leads them to bigger and better opportunities throughout their careers post-college.

“It’s cool seeing this creativity from college kids,” Chesney said in a press release. “They understood how to build a storyline and narrative, and they bring a fresh eye to these moments. (Their clip)’s really sweet, and just what this kind of song needed. I’m as thrilled to be part of Jessica’s college education as I am to have her – and Will’s – creativity be a part of this song.”
