"....The idea of these poor animals who can’t find their people, who are struggling to find food, some of whom need medicine, it breaks your heart," Chesney shares.

After the devastating Hurricane Irma ravaged much of the Caribbean islands in September 2017, Kenny Chesney has been doing all he can to help those in need, including the four-legged residents of his beloved islands.

With no food, water or power, many of the human residents have been forced to leave their homes and pets behind, but Chesney has stepped up to make sure none of the furry friends are forgotten.

“If you’ve ever loved a dog or a cat, the idea of these poor animals who can’t find their people, who are struggling to find food, some of whom need medicine, it breaks your heart” Chesney previously told TODAY. “To me, if we can’t find their owners, we can find them love. That’s what Love for Love City is all about.”

In a recent post to Facebook, user Terrie Pantusco praised the “All The Pretty Girls” singer for his unwavering efforts in helping the islands. With the help of his assistant Jill and his private plane, Chesney recently flew 90 more dogs to the states in an effort to find them a “furever” home.

She wrote:

We are all out having a celebratory lunch and a cocktail thanks to Kenny Chesney and his Love for Love City Foundation. Kenny is amazing to arrange this transport via his organization and his assistant Jill is a rockstar. What a group effort and we were all in tears watching the plane leave. (Kenny holding a pup below and Jill waving goodbye!…she needs a xanax for that flight! Ha)

Paws up on 90 pets headed to the good life. These pets are headed to loving Stateside rescues and onto their furever homes. It’s a beautiful day. I’m so lucky to have been a part of this and so proud to be around such caring people in this community who drop everything for animals!

Ya’ll help me tag people, I’m missing a lot!!

Please support Kenny’s Love for Love City Foundation, Pets with Wings Humane Society of St. Thomas, Humane Society of St Thomas and all the wonderful organizations making a difference for our islands! You can truly save lives!

Chesney has been a longtime resident of the U.S. Virgin Islands and has been working tirelessly on rebuilding the once vibrant community. Immediately after Hurricane Irma rolled through and destroyed the islands, Chesney launched his Love for Love City Foundation to raise money for the residents who lost everything. The name of the foundation came from St. John, which is also known as Love City.

“That place and the people mean so much more to me than my house,” he told HLN’s Robin Meade after the hurricane destroyed everything in its path, including his own home. “I think we’re all going to come together and we’re going to do so much to rebuild. The people’s souls down there, they’re hurting.”
