Kimberly Schlapman recently surprised fans with the announcement that she and her husband Stephen had adopted a baby girl. Posting the news to Instagram for all to see, Schlapman and her family were beaming with excitement over the baby girl, who they named Dolly Grace, joining their family.

The now mom of two is overjoyed with their new addition and says that life feels more complete now that Dolly Grace is a part of their family unit.

“I can just tell you that she’s a part of us. She just fits right into the puzzle of our family like it was always meant to be,” Schlapman told Sounds Like Nashville and other media during a press conference recently. “Love has just grown and exploded, and the things that matter have become so much more apparent even than before. She needed us, but we also needed her. I feel like it was ordained forever ago by God that we would all be together. I couldn’t be more grateful.”

Someone else who is grateful for the little girl is her big sister Daisy, 9, who has been praying for a younger sibling for quite some time.

“Daisy is in heaven. She’s a little mama. She prayed for this baby every night when she said her prayers. She even asked Santa Claus for this baby. That’s pretty amazing also. She loves and adores her. She kisses her all the time,” gushed the blonde songstress. “She’s very happy.”

As for Dolly Grace’s name, however, that came from a suggestion from Kimberly’s husband.

“I mean, Dolly Parton, yes, has inspired my whole life,” she explained. “My husband is the one who thought of us naming… When we had hoped and prayed for this baby, this was my husband’s idea, so it’s perfect. I love it.”

Schlapman will soak in all of the baby snuggles for as long as possible before Little Big Town kicks it into high gear with the upcoming release of their new album, The Breaker, and 2017 residency at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. The band’s current single “Better Man” is sitting in the Top 5 at country radio.
