Kimberly Schlapman’s Daughter Daisy Loves Being a Big Sister
Daisy is even helping with diaper duty, says the proud mom!
In early January, Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman made the exciting announcement that she and her husband Stephen had domestically adopted a baby girl. The couple was over the moon about their precious baby, who they named Dolly Grace, but no one was more excited than the couple’s 9-year-old daughter Daisy.
“Daisy prayed for a sibling for years,” Schlapman told PEOPLE recently. “She begged us and God for years, and even asked Santa Claus this year for a sibling.”
Thankfully, Santa delivered and Daisy couldn’t be more excited to take on her duties of “big sister.”
“She’s a little mama — so helpful!” the singer said. “She’ll hold her, rock her, feed her. This is her baby doll, a real-life baby doll.”
Daisy’s even stepped up to help with “the pee-pee diapers, not the other ones yet.”

Watching her eldest daughter blossom into a loving, caring young lady has been a dream come true for Schlapman.
“[Daisy] does not know there’s anything she can’t do. She’s such a believer in herself and it’s something that my parents tried to instill in me, but I was really shy,” Schlapman explained. “The world is [Daisy’s] oyster and I think because of my career and my husband’s support of it, she knows that a woman can be strong and make her own decisions and her own money and have her own career, and also have the love and support of a great man.”
Schlapman will continue to be a strong supermom as she continues to promote Little Big Town’s latest album The Breaker with appearances across the nation.
The group will soon head to Las Vegas for the 52nd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, which will broadcast live from the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 2 (live 8:00-11:00 PM, ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network.
