Krystal Keith Defends Breastfeeding Photo Posted To Facebook

Krystal Keith is definitely proud to be a mom and knows that mamas stand up for their babies.

Keith, daughter of country superstar Toby Keith, posted a picture to her Facebook page on Sunday of her breastfeeding her baby while relaxing at her family’s vacation home captioned, “Breastfeeding is paradise #MomLife #BreastIsBest #GotMilk,” which caused quite the commotion for fans. While most rallied in support of her natural motherly instincts, a few followers were quick to jump in and add their negative comments to the photo.

In defense of her candid shot, Keith posted the picture again with a different caption alongside to send away all the bad vibes.

“I appreciate all the support shown for the breastfeeding picture I posted. I won’t respond to negativity other than to say that I showed no more in that photo than you would see on a red carpet best-dressed list,” wrote Keith. “The fact that my body created a human being and that she can survive solely on a substance that my body creates for her is nothing short of a miracle.”

This isn’t the first time folks have freaked out over a celebrity breastfeeding post; anyone from Jessie James Decker to Gisele Bündchen to Olivia Wilde have been photographed with baby during the nurturing moments and received flack all the same.

Keith ultimately kept it classy in spite of the negative words by adding that she feels, “blessed,” to help out her child in this way and was thankful that her true fans supported her in her parenting.

“I LOVE that 99% of you have my back and understood the purity of the moment I wanted to share with my fans,” she wrote.

Hensley Jack, who will be 5 months old this month, is the first child for Krystal and her husband Andrew.
