Lady Antebellum brought their hits to the first night of the 2nd annual Country LakeShake. The group took over the FirstMerit Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island, belting out songs from the start of their career through present day to the crowd of 30,000.

During their nearly hour and a half set, the group showcased their on-point vocal stylings, iconic to the Grammy-award winning group. Songs like “Just a Kiss,” “Lookin’ For A Good Time,” “American Honey,” “Dancing Away With My Heart” and “Compass” had the crowd singing along. The group took advantage of the spotlight to slow things down to send their prayers to those affected in last week’s Orlando shooting with their hit “Hello World.” The touching moment brought the entire audience to lift their cell phones and wave their lights back and forth.

Just before Lady A took the stage, Grammy-nominee and country heartthrob Sam Hunt brought a high-energy set to the stage near Lake Michigan. The Georgia native sang “Raised On It,” “Take Your Time” and “Make You Miss Me” from his debut album Montevallo. Hunt put aside his usual medley of country ladies’ hits to pay tribute to the late Merle Haggard with a cover of “Mama Tried.” In the midst of the iconic song, he and his band took turns singing a number of today’s biggest hits like Cole Swindell’s “You Should Be Here,” Luke Bryan’s “Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Everyday,” Maren Morris’ “My Church” and Kane Brown’s “Used To Love You Sober.”

Also on the main stage for night 1 of the festival was Kacey Musgraves, Granger Smith featuring Earl Dibbbles, Jr., and Jana Kramer, each bringing a huge crowd (and sing-alongs) all their own.

In between sets on the main stage was the Next from Nashville stage, which featured some of country music’s brightest new acts. Among the group was “Boy and A Girl Thing” singer Mo Pitney and “Light of Day” singer Aubrie Sellers.
