They had the horns, they had the soul and they had the room grooving along as Lady Antebellum and Earth, Wind & Fire threw it back with their collaborative performance at the 2017 CMT Music Awards.

Lady A ‘looked good’ as they felt the vintage vibes on their current radio single from their upcoming record, Heart Break, before having the Motown trio joined the country group on stage to put on their iconic hit, “September.” Of course, everyone rose to their feet to finish the awards show on the highest note imaginable for the broadcast.

Even Charles Kelley and Hillary Scott chimed in with their vocals on the verses, playing the game with the original members of Earth, Wind & Fire on their smash single from back in the day.

The team-up won’t be the last time that both groups come together as they are signed on for a special CMT Crossroads episode in the forthcoming weeks. Other artists from the country community will tag along in the fun on the special night ahead.

The 2017 CMT Music Awards, hosted by Charles Esten, aired tonight from Nashville on CMT.
