Lady Antebellum to Put Spin on ‘Hey Baby’ for ABC’s ‘Dirty Dancing’ Remake
The three-hour television remake stars Abigail Breslin as Baby and Colt Prattes as Johnny.
If you’ve watched ABC or any of its affiliate stations recently, you know the broadcasting giant is gearing up to air a television movie event with a remake of the classic Dirty Dancing. What you may not know, however, is that Lady Antebellum will be featured on the soundtrack of the new flick.
The GRAMMY-winning trio will put a harmonizing spin on the Bruce Channel hit “Hey Baby.” The song raced to the top of Billboard’s Hot 100 chart in 1962 and was used in the original film. Fans can hear the track when Patrick Swayze’s character Johnny Castle teaches Jennifer Grey’s Baby Houseman to dance on a fallen tree.
The three-hour television remake stars Abigail Breslin as Baby and Colt Prattes as Johnny, as well as Katey Sagal, Debra Messing, Bruce Greenwood and Billy Dee Williams. Dirty Dancing airs on ABC on May 24 at 8 p.m. ET, with the soundtrack dropping days before on May 19.
