Lady Antebellum Takes On National Anthem at Nashville Predators Game
Lady Antebellum was the latest country act to take on the National Anthem at a Nashville Predators playoff game.
Ahead of the Nashville Predators’ fifth face-off against the Winnipeg Jets, fans within Bridgestone Arena were pleased when Lady Antebellum stepped out into the middle of the ice for a performance of the National Anthem.
The group’s Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood each stepped out on to the ice to sing the iconic song, wearing matching Preds jerseys. In spite of a small flub with the lyrics, the GRAMMY-winning group pulled out a harmonious and pitch-perfect performance.
Lady A later addressed the flub with a post to Instagram, with Kelley owning his mistake. In a photo posted to Instagram of Kelley with his face in his hands, his bandmates stood by his side in support. “Welp. We’re human too y’all ♂️♀️♂️ We’re still rooting for ya Preds!!!” they captioned the snapshot.
Welp. We’re human too y’all ♂️♀️♂️ We’re still rooting for ya Preds!!! #smashville

The new tradition of stars singing the National Anthem began during the 2017 season when the Preds made a Stanley Cup run. During each home game, stars including Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Vince Gill, Keith Urban, among others, sported their “fang fingers” and impressive vocals.
In addition to Lady Antebellum’s performance this season, the group joins the ranks of Maren Morris, Brad Paisley and Rascal Flatts, who have also stepped center ice for the patriotic moment.
The Preds and Jets play once again on Monday (5/7) in Winnipeg for Game 6.
