Life is about to be a whole lot different for Lady Antebellum. For the last eight months, the band has been eagerly awaiting the birth of Hillary Scott’s baby girl. While things are sure to change, the band is excited for the addition to join their traveling family.

In addition to changing the family dynamic, Scott and her husband, drummer Chris Tyrrell have decided to move their family into their own bus. While she’s “kind of sad” about the separation, she thinks it will give bandmates Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood a glimpse into their future. “There’s always going to be one of us that goes through it first,” Scott says. “With Charles getting married (first), there were so many things that Dave and I didn’t understand that he was going through. But now we do, because we’re in the same shoes. They’ll feel the same way when their wives get pregnant.”

The guys agree that the “Lady Baby” will only be a positive experience for the group. “I feel like these moments have brought us closer together instead of driving us apart,” Haywood adds. “It’s an honor to be able to be part of a group that’s like that.”

The fans have also been very excited about the new arrival. “They’re so kind, honestly, just giving gifts, whether they’re cute stuffed animals for a daughter or onesies, little socks or keepsakes,” she said backstage at LP Field during CMA Fest. “It’s been really, really sweet.”

And though fans may be disappointed the group has canceled their summer tour dates, the band is looking forward to the time off. Scott will be able to adjust to motherhood and the guys are looking forward to songwriting with some friends. “We’ve already been talking with our buddies — Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, Miranda (Lambert) — about getting on their tours and writing some with them,” Kelley says, adding “Then, when her little girl is old enough, I’m going to sign her to a record deal and make her a big ol’ star. And I’ve got exclusive rights.”
