Lady Antebellum Teaches Kelsea Ballerini and Brett Young How to Prepare for Tour

Life on tour isn’t always what fans expect for their favorite artists, so Lady Antebellum is showing the ropes to opening acts Brett Young and Kelsea Ballerini before hitting the road. Only catch: their version of touring seems to be a bit unorthodox for their fellow musicians, according to their promo video.

Before heading out on the You Look Good Tour for the summer, all of the artists got together for a little teaching lesson of what happens when Lady A travels across the country. Noting their routine sounds similar to a lot of other country musicians that hit the road, the members of Lady Antebellum switch their methods up a bit to add a new unexpected twist for Ballerini and Young.

During an impromptu writing session post-show, Charles Kelley warns the openers that they’re in for a fresh freestyle session. Breaking out some sick rhymes on top of a hip-hop beat, both Ballerini and Young seem to be unimpressed by the hangout despite Lady A getting hype from their inventive approach to writing.

“I told you he was a lyrical genius! Lyrical genius,” Hillary Scott yells hilariously about Kelley in the comedic clip.

No tour is complete without a workout routine before the show, so Lady Antebellum also goes through their health and fitness basics with Ballerini and Young to make sure they understand how to get those gains while on the bus. Clad in silly workout outfits, they give the lowdown on their gym secrets just in case the opening acts need a little help getting in shape.

“The secret is really high reps, low weight. High reps, low weight. Yep, counter-intuitive,” says Dave Haywood with a couple two-pounders in hand.

Despite all of their crazy antics, the You Look Good Tour will kick off in Bakersfield, California, on May 28. Fans can find ticket information and tour dates on Lady Antebellum’s website.
