Continuing her dedicated efforts to help out the children of Uganda, Lauren Akins paired together with Ladybird to create a fine jewelry line to benefit a charitable organization centered around the kids in Africa.

Akins came up with three different designs, incorporating the ‘one’ and ‘love’ aspects into the delicate design of each necklace. Charms of a heart, the number one and a cross sit beautifully at the end of a chain and the ornament comes in silver, gold and gold with diamonds encrusted into the pieces. All necklaces start at separate prices according to the material used.

Y’all!! I teamed up with @ladybirdjewelry in Nashville and we designed some really beautiful necklaces that are going to benefit the children in Uganda through @loveoneint 🙌🏼 We worked really hard to make sure these necklaces are of the highest quality, so each one is made to order and will be about 7-10 weeks for production & delivery. I really wanted to offer something for everyone so they’re 14k yellow gold, rose gold and white gold (with or without diamonds), sterling silver, as well as a donate button 😍 every little bit helps these sweeties and I cannot thank y’all enough for your support ALWAYS. Really love and appreciate you guys, I know the kids do too 💛 go to laurenakins.com or follow the link in my bio to purchase and donate😘

The reason why Akins wanted to put this passion project into fruition was to keep connected to her daughter’s home country and support the kind people that make Uganda into such an inspiring place.

“The impact Love One International is making on kids’ lives in Uganda is truly indescribable,” Akins said about the partnership. “We’re helping shape communities and rebuild families through these children. Their bellies are full and more importantly, so are their hearts. I know it is impossible to care for every child’s needs in the world, but we each can love one. This is the idea behind Love+1 and why we created this jewelry line.”

Proceeds from the jewelry line will go back into the Love One International mission, which was formally known as 147 Million Orphans. The philanthropy focuses on bringing awareness to the orphan crisis in Uganda, and provides communities with the resources to support children who don’t have somewhere to call home in their lives.

The Lauren Akins x Ladybird pieces are available to purchase at this time on Akins’ website.
