Luke Bryan and Jason Derulo had people on their feet at the 2017 CMT Music Awards for their high-energy performance of Derulo’s smash hit, “Want To Want Me.” The collaboration comes after a nomination for their performance of the track during a recent CMT Crossroads performance.

Starting on a slower note with Bryan’s “Strip It Down” with Derulo working those sultry falsetto runs, the pair channeled the sultry vibes each are known for in their respective genres. Derulo hit all the high notes before transitioning right on through his own pop hit. They even glided through the crowd just as smooth as both of their silky vocals.

The performance serves as another excuse for Derulo to visit Music City, a town he’s grown rather fond of.

“Nashville is amazing. The food is incredible, and if I lived here, I would literally be 300 pounds. I’m having brisket, barbecue, fried fish. I’m going over to Luke’s and he’s going to fry up some grouper,” the singer told CMT during their rehearsal. “You know what they say about the South is really true. The people here are just warm. It’s been super dope.”

The chance to collaborate with one of country music’s hottest acts is nothing short of a privilege for the singer, who leads and equally as successful career in the pop and R&B genres.

“I’m just such a big fan of music and country music,” Derulo shared. “To be kind of inducted as one of the cousins, it’s really fly, and I continue to do more in this world because it’s a passion of mine and I really do enjoy it.”

Bryan and Derulo took the title for CMT Performance of the Year for their “Want to Want Me” Crossroads performance, while Bryan also notched a nomination in the Video of the Year category for “Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day.”
