Luke Bryan Grants Cleveland Girl’s Special Wish

Nine-year-old Addi Keegan is one of Luke Bryan’s biggest fans. She knows the words to all of his songs, listens to him when she is trying to fall asleep and told Channel 3 News that she loves him “9,999 hearts and stars.” When Luke Bryan brought his Huntin’, Fishin’, & Lovin’ Everyday Tour to her home state of Ohio, she would have loved to be there, but there was one thing standing in her way.

Keegan has an aggressive brain tumor that she has been fighting with chemotherapy, radiation, clinical trials and surgeries since she was two years old.

A Special Wish Cleveland, a non-profit dedicated to granting wishes to children with life threatening disorders, wanted to send Keegan to Luke Bryan’s Cleveland show, but she was home on hospice, and the odds of her being able to attend the show were not good.

A week before the concert, the organization decided that if she could not go to the show, then they would bring the show right to her own backyard. They hosted a concert in the Keegans’ backyard featuring Ohio country band Country Redford singing Bryan’s biggest hits. It might not have been the real Luke Bryan, but the little girl enjoyed it either way.

Miraculously, Keegan was able to attend the concert at Progressive Field, so A Special Wish Cleveland put plan A back into action.

After traveling to the show in a limo, Keegan and her family got to spend a few special minutes backstage with Bryan before the show. She told him that it is “magic” when she listens to his music, especially her favorite song, “Play it Again.”

When it came time for Bryan to sing “Play it Again” during the concert, he dedicated it to Keegan as she sat in her private press box singing every word.

It was a magical moment for Keegan to be able to meet the singer whose music has helped her fight her battle.
