Luke Bryan Crashes Wedding Party After ‘Idol’ Auditions

Luke Bryan sings about how he wants someone to ‘Crash My Party,’ but he took his own advice at a recent wedding being held down the road for American Idol auditions.

While visiting Georgia to find the next talented group of singers for the upcoming season of the revised television hit, Bryan took the night off to surprise the newlyweds and their guests for a night they’ll never forget. Sneaking up to the reception doors with a camera crew on hand, the singer gave his greatest Ryan Seacrest imitation before waltzing right on in to the chaos.

Just in time to their dance party during Bryan’s single, “Crash My Party,” he came onto the scene to congratulate the bride and groom, McKenna and Austin, on their nuptials as well as make his rounds to all in attendance. The Georgia native also encouraged all those bridesmaids to get up on the dance floor and show off their ‘Shake It For Me’ moves to bump the party up to the next degree.

The moment wasn’t just a random last-minute occasion, though—the American Idol producer caught wind of the shindig going on just down the road and asked the bride’s mother politely to capture Bryan’s appearance for a future episode of the series.

“The American Idol producers called the venue manager and asked it it would be ok for Luke to crash our wedding reception,” explained McKenna to People. “The venue manager had to contact my mom to make sure we would be ok with it.”

Bryan got to know the couple even more by asking them about planning their big day around one of the biggest rivalries in the region—University of Georgia versus University of Florida.

American Idol, starring Bryan and his judging mates, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, will return back to the small screen in early 2018 on ABC.
