Country superstar Luke Bryan took home the first award of the evening at tonight’s 2016 American Country Countdown Awards.

Carrie Underwood presented the Georgia native with the honor, who immediately went on to perform his latest hit “Huntin’, Fishin’, And Lovin’ Every Day.”

After his performance, which had Thomas Rhett, Kelsea Ballerini, and Michael Ray singing along, Bryan delivered a heartfelt acceptance speech.

“Vocalist of the year…Thank you guys so much again,” he began. He went on to thank members of the Nashville music community and his longtime producer Jeff Stevens.

“I wanna thank the good Lord above,” he added. “I wanna thank all you fans out there on the road that come see our shows, this incredible band behind me who plays their butts off every night for me, my beautiful wife that’s out here now and my boys back home… Leesburg. Thank you so much…songwriters on my albums, we love you.”

Also nominated in the Male Vocalist of the Year category were Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Sam Hunt, and Thomas Rhett.
