It ain’t Crash My Playa until something crazy from the man of the hour comes along and Luke Bryan took care of the hilarity with the simple change of a costume.

During Blake Shelton’s set at the country music festival based in Mexico, Bryan decided to make a surprise appearance but with a rather throwback twist. Popping on a curly mullet and chugging from a Smithworks Vodka glass, Bryan recreated Shelton’s former look from the early 2000’s when “Austin” was moving its way on the radio.

Of course, Bryan stuck to the ‘pictures or it didn’t happen’ rule by documenting the funny roleplay through his Instagram profile. Looking quite thrilled with the final outcome, Bryan nailed the whole retro Shelton trend on the head and felt so proud to do so.

“Vintage BS,” Bryan wrote, wig and all in the Instagram picture.

Even Bryan’s wife Caroline got in on the fun, adding “Blake Bryan. Luke really wanted to capture the vintage Blake look….but he actually looks like Luke from our college days,” as she rocked a “Sexiest Man Alive” life jacket.

This isn’t the first time that the two have exchanged pranks on one another. Back in 2015, Bryan posted a picture on April Fools’ Day with his brand new tattoo of Shelton’s face on his arm. Although the gag may have been fake, the smiles and laughs definitely were not when fans caught a glimpse of the hijinks.

The two also bantered back and forth at previous ACM Awards broadcasts when they wanted to boost each other’s humor up as the audience looked on and laughed. Although Bryan and Shelton constantly joke that they don’t get along, the pair definitely make the most of their friendship by poking fun at the right time.

Currently, Bryan has a single out called “Most People are Good,” which comes off his latest record, What Makes You Country. Fans can check it out online streaming now.
