It’s Fourth of July weekend and many families are packing up in their cars and heading to the beach or lake for a weekend of fun in the sun. For Luke Bryan, some of his most favorite memories are from when he and his family spent time down on the lake.

“Some of my favorite Fourth of July memories were spent on Lake Blackshear down in Georgia with my family,” he shares. “I was always kind of in charge of driving home from Tennessee and picking up all the fireworks and my nieces and nephews always got excited when I rolled in because they knew I had all the fireworks. But, it was always a great memory, and I miss not getting to do that as much as we used to.”

Although his family holidays and three-day weekends were always exciting, the holiday has so much more meaning for the hitmaker, who takes his patriotism very seriously.

He says, “I think the definition of an American is somebody who stands up during the ‘Pledge of Allegiance’ and stands up when ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ is being sung and just appreciates what all the fallen heroes and soldiers have done to keep us living in a country that’s free where we have the right to do anything we want.”

Luke will be spending some time off the road before picking up his Kill The Lights Tour on July 8 for two nights in Indianapolis, IN at the Klipsch Music Center.
