BLUKE is BACK! That’s right, Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton are teaming up once again for what’s sure to be a comedy-filled time on television together. While the hilarious duo is not returning to host the Academy of Country Music Awards together again, Bryan and Shelton will join forces for Season 12 of NBC’s hit show, The Voice, when Bryan serves as mentor for Shelton’s team.

“I enjoy being in the moment with those artists and in my gut feeling, tell them the best thing I can tell them and really lift them up,” Bryan said (quote via The Tennessean). “I think I get lost in the shuffle in the media of the guy who dances on stage. I think people don’t realize that I moved to town, wrote songs and got a record deal. Early in my career, I was so nervous about big moments, I didn’t even enjoy them. I just want to help these people settle into who they are and enjoy the moment.”

“Once he realized he was getting wrapped up in it, Luke was showing them dance moves and things to do,” Shelton added. “That’s what happens, though. At some point, you realize, ‘I’m an artist, no one ever really listens to what we have to say because it’s our one thing we can do.’ But when these (contestants) ask, you can say, ‘That’s easy because I’ve been there before. Normally it’s (advice) you would take to the grave with you.”

The partnership is something that Shelton has reportedly wanted for years, but due to Bryan’s annual Crash My Playa event, Bryan’s schedule would never allow for it. Thankfully, Shelton was able to pull some strings to allow their schedules to coincide with The Voice filming and Crash My Playa 2017, where Shelton was a headliner.

Season 12 of The Voice kicks off Feb. 27 on NBC. Shelton will face-off against fellow coaches Adam Levine, Gwen Stefani and Alicia Keys.
