It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s…Luke Bryan!

The country singer tethered up alongside actor and host Mario Lopez for the first-ever celebrity version of Ellen DeGeneres’ game called “You Bet Your Wife.” Contestants hang from the ceiling of her talk show set as wives bet against each other about naming things from specific subjects, hoping their husbands know a thing or two about the category at hand.

While Lopez paired with his own wife, DeGeneres claimed Bryan as her spouse for the day and away they went. Scoring a victory for the first round, Lopez lost out after not naming enough ‘things you can inhale’ and dropped a whopping few feet toward the ground. The actor got revenge on Bryan, though, by saying enough classic country stars to take the second go and the “Light It Up” singer took the scary plunge.

Redeeming himself in the last round, Bryan ticked off eight things that can scare someone and even cited alpacas and DeGeneres’ backstage set-up as fears. The crowd laughed over the singer’s responses, and even more so when both he and Lopez finally dropped to the floor.

Up for anything during his promotional visit, Bryan even threw on his ugly Christmas sweater to help DeGeneres in her annual 12 Days of Giveaways segment. Handing out presents from Furbo, Marc Jacobs, JetBlue and more, the audience quite liked Bryan more and more through every new announcement. He even danced arm-in-arm with Vixen, the holiday mascot, and DeGeneres herself in celebration of the most wonderful time of the year at the show.

Fans who want to hear Bryan get even more into the Christmas spirit can stream his rendition of “O Holy Night” online and pick up a copy of his latest album, What Makes You Country, in stores or at digital retailers now.
