Luke Combs Covers Keith Urban’s No.1 ‘Blue Ain’t Your Color’
Luke Combs is putting his own twist on Keith Urban’s No.1 smash “Blue Ain’t Your Color” with a stand-out cover performance. In a video posted to Facebook, Combs’ thick North Carolina accent puts a new flavor on the waltzy track written by Steven Lee Olsen, Hillary Lindsey and Clint Lagerberg.
The minute-long black and white clip features Combs in a black button down and baseball cap singing along as his guitar player plays a stripped down version of the song.
The country newcomers powerhouse vocals come as no surprise as fans are getting a glimpse of them in his popular debut single, “Hurricane.” The song is the lead single from his major label debut album This One’s For You.
“I couldn’t be more proud of this album. These songs mean so much to me and all my friends who I wrote them with,” said the Sony Music Nashville artist. “From North Carolina to Nashville, this project has been such a long time in the making and I can’t wait for the fans to hear it. I sincerely hope they enjoy the album because they are the reason I do what I do.”
Combs wrote or co-wrote all 12 tracks on his upcoming project, hoping fans will get some more insight into him as a person and artist.
“When I go and see a concert, when I watch somebody and say ‘okay, well this guy wrote everything, I feel like I’m really connecting with that guy because those are his thoughts that he’s put down and turned into a song.’ I really enjoy that aspect of music so I’m trying to bring that to what I’m doing,” he explained to Sounds Like Nashville previously.
Fans can catch Combs out on the road with Brantley Gilbert as a part of the Devil Don’t Sleep Tour through September. He’ll also take the stage at many popular music festivals this summer, including Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, CMA Music Fest, and more.
This One’s For You hits shelves June 2.
