"I’m getting used to the radio playing without you singing along, but I’ll never get used to you being gone," Combs sings.

In honor of the victims killed or wounded by the Las Vegas shooting, Luke Combs played his poignant track, “Used to You,” for a special performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

Although Combs originally stopped by the late night set to tape for a performance to air later on this fall, host Jimmy Kimmel asked if the country star would want to remember the lives hurt in the tragic event by playing a special song for the crowd. Combs obliged instantly, making the television moment an emotional one for him and his band.

“Tonight, the band and I were scheduled to tape a performance at @jimmykimmel Live! to air on TV later this fall. While we were on set today, Jimmy asked if I would be willing to perform a song tonight (11:35|10:35c on ABC) to honor last night’s fallen; I immediately agreed and we will be playing “Used to You.” Music is a healer. In this overwhelming darkness, I believe we will find hope when we rise together. Evil will not win. Fans, it is the blessing of my life to get to make music with you and for you every day. Tonight, may we find light and hope in the chaos,” Combs wrote to his fans.

Combs was one of the many performers on the Route 91 Harvest Festival Lineup, performing earlier in the day on Sunday (10/1). He took to his Instagram on Monday to let his followers know how “deeply saddened” he was regarding the attack and said he felt “thankful that me and all my band and crew are alive and unharmed.”

The episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! kept to a rather solemn tone, with Kimmel opening up the show tearing up over the horrendous incident. Calling for action through gun reform and pleading that the conversation over obtaining weapons needs to open sooner rather than never, Kimmel emotionally connected to the event due to being raised in Las Vegas many years ago.

As Kimmel states toward the end of his monologue, fans are encouraged to give back to the Las Vegas shooting community by donating funds or blood to the American Red Cross. More details can be found about the cause at redcross.org/abc.
