This week calls for celebration for country newcomer Luke Combs. The River House Artists/Columbia Nashville singer/songwriter’s debut album, This One’s For You, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart and at No. 5 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart, making it the largest album debut from a new country artist in 2017.

“I’m blown away at the response to ‘This One’s For You.’ As a songwriter and artist, there is nothing more rewarding or humbling than to have your songs embraced by fans. I’m grateful for all the folks who have shown up to shows over the years, told their friends about these songs and been a part of the path to get here,” Combs said.

This is not Combs’s first milestone. Last month, Combs’s Platinum-certified debut single “Hurricane” rested at No. 1 on both Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase charts for two consecutive weeks. This made Combs the first debut country artist to earn a multi-week No. 1 since Florida Georgia Line’s “Cruise.”

Combs recently kicked off Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival as the first performance in the This Tent on June 8, performing for a crowd of over 4,000. He followed this with a performance for 6,000+ at the Carolina Country Music Fest, and ended his busy schedule with CMA Music Festival performances at the Radio Disney Stage, Chevy Riverfront Stage and HGTV Lodge.

“When I go and see a concert, when I watch somebody and say ‘okay, well this guy wrote everything, I feel like I’m really connecting with that guy because those are his thoughts that he’s put down and turned into a song.’ I really enjoy that aspect of music so I’m trying to bring that to what I’m doing,” Combs told Sounds Like Nashville.

“When It Rains It Pours,” Luke Combs’s new single, is hitting country radio now.
