The name Luke Combs has become a regularly heard one in the country music world, and it doesn’t seem to bother the up-and-comer.

Seeing his career basically blow up overnight, Combs continues to maintain his humility toward all of the attention. While he appreciates the love and support from his fans, he strives to remain grounded throughout each accomplishment.

“I’m a pretty regular guy, I like sitting at home, and watching TV, or going out hunting every once in a while…when I’m not obviously out on the road doing the music thing,” Combs says. “But I’ve always been just kind of your run of the mill guy, and I think there’s something to be said about that, because you know that’s what I think the core of the country music fan base is…just your regular guy, or regular girl…and I think people love that. So I’m lucky to kind of, right now at least for this little snapshot in history, get to try and kind of represent those people you know.”

His music even earned him a look at the 51st Annual CMA Awards as he snagged a spot in the New Artist of the Year category. Combs expressed his gratefulness back to all of the people that made his nomination possible, including his team that have been there from the very start of it all.

“There’s so many people to thank for the CMA nod, the industry and country radio and the fans obviously wouldn’t be able to do it without you guys but I got to wake up and say I’m nominated for Best New Artist at the CMA Awards. So thank you guys for believing in me and voting for me and always listening to the music and buying the albums and everything, we really appreciate it,” the country singer recently explained.

Combs is currently promoting his single, “When It Rains It Pours,” on country radio.
