Maren Morris is about to take the pop world by storm thanks to a request from Niall Horan.

During a recent press event held by Universal Music Group in Los Angeles, Horan talked about the prospects of his forthcoming solo record following the hiatus of One Direction. After releasing two singles, including “This Town” and “Slow Hands,” to pop radio, the singer is ready to branch out and show his musical diversity by throwing Morris on an anticipated duet for his forthcoming project.

Confirming the collaboration to be called “Seeing Blind,” Variety described the song to match Horan’s acoustic approach to pop music with Morris creating a dynamic dimension to sonically allow the song to transcend into multiple music genres. While Horan didn’t reveal a specific release date for his solo debut, he’s previously hinted at a late fall delivery.

Both Horan and Morris made subtle notions about the announcement—Horan thanked Capitol Records for allowing him to be a part of the event and Morris got cheeky with her monkey face emojis, hinting at the exciting news.

Although Morris and Horan have never previously collaborated, the pop star sent Morris some love via Twitter for her track, “I Could Use a Love Song.” Going back and forth over social media, the two must have struck up quite the friendship to then turn it into a soon-to-be-heard collaboration.

“Seeing Blind” will be one of the many songs off Horan’s album, but Morris recently hinted at her own efforts to kickstart her sophomore release by posting pictures of the writers’ nights she’s been hosting with friends and other colleagues within country music.

In the meantime, fans can check out Morris on the 15 in a 30 Tour with Sam Hunt and Chris Janson. The run will continue on throughout the end of summer, hitting cities all throughout the U.S.
