Celebrities always leave big award shows with swag bags in hand, but Maren Morris got the royal treatment when James Corden’s parents gifted her with a basket full of British goodies and indulged on the sweets with her backstage at the GRAMMYs.

With Corden holding the title of host for the evening, his parents sneak away behind-the-scenes to get in on all the action happening leading up to the awards show. Running into Morris near the dressing rooms, the couple treat her with a special package from across the pond and try to get her to chow down on some candy.

Offering her some licorice bites, the “80s Mercedes” singer somewhat denies her liking for the taste of the chewy food but gives it a go regardless just to be polite. Holding a poker face to disguise her disgust, Corden’s mother jokes that she can read how much Morris actually hates the treat.

Corden’s father, on the other hand, takes advantage of the open bag to stuff as many candies into his mouth as he can just like Ed Sheeran did during his ‘Carpool Karaoke’ session. Totaling up to a whopping 16 pieces, Morris laughs that the man starts to drool down his face and can’t keep her composure any longer. Thankfully for Corden’s dad, he helps himself to a spit bucket to get rid of them all before having to choke down the licorice.

The pair hit the red carpet next and run into a number of big stars, including Little Big Town. The country quartet treated the Brits to a harmonized rendition of their nominated single, “Better Man,” to the Cordens’ delight. Although they don’t catch Morris out and about, they still look back on the precious moment with a smile.

Morris is gearing up for some new music on the horizon, but no news about her sophomore record has been announced at this time.
