Maren Morris Wants to Bond with Niall Horan on Tour
Morris even plans to get out on the green with the pop singer, so he can teach her a few golf tricks out on the course.
Worlds collided when Niall Horan asked Maren Morris to hop on a duet track with him for his solo debut album. Little did they both know that a friendship would soon emerge and blossom into a touring gig for both of them.
While they spend the summer together, it won’t just be all work all the time. Morris hopes to connect even closer with the pop singer, especially since they’ll be traveling the world with one another. As a music creator herself, Morris hopes to pencil down a couple writing sessions, while also taking in a few golf lessons from the Irish man himself.
“Well, we obviously have our song, ‘Seeing Blind,’ which is still one of my favorite features or duets I’ve gotten to do,” Morris said to Sounds Like Nashville and other media recently. “I assume we will be working that up for his show. As far as writing goes, I know that he is a great songwriter and we actually have a lot of mutual friends, co-writers, so I could easily see that happening if he’s down for it. I know that Niall is a really big golfer, which I’m not, but I’m hoping I could get out of my comfort zone this summer and we’re going to South America. I’m getting out of my comfort zone by traveling this much but I might go on the golf course and witness a game or two.”
Although they knew each other somewhat while making their duet, the true bonding moments happened when Horan flew out to Nashville for the CMA Awards and partied with Morris and her crew. That’s when the Texas native realized how fun a friendship between the pair could be.
“He’s the best guy and he had the best time at the CMA’s this past year and he’d never been to a country awards show. So I think he was like enamored at how friendly everyone was and how much everyone is actually friends with each other and he was just bowled over by that. Then I look over and he’s getting Luke Bryan’s number and I just thought that was so adorable. But yeah, he’s a great dude,” the singer gushed.
