Returning to civilian life after serving our country can be difficult at times for our veterans and their families. It can take time to readjust back to normalcy and help can be found through different resources.

To help alleviate some of those pressures and reunite families for a happy, healthy holiday season, the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) has teamed up with Martina McBride to help raise awareness about veterans’ issues and educate America on how to support the men and women who have served our country.

“DAV is delighted to partner with Martina McBride to honor the service and sacrifices of America’s veterans in meaningful ways,” said Marc Burgess, DAV National Adjutant. “Martina is known and respected for her love of family and country, and we are looking forward to working with her to raise awareness of the needs of our servicemen and women, and their families, over the coming months.”

As part of their partnership, McBride has dedicated her song, “We’ll Pick Up Where We Left Off” as the theme for America’s more than 22 million veterans. Deserving veterans across the country will also receive VIP tickets and a meet & greet during her Love Unleashed Tour.

“I am proud to partner with DAV this holiday season to use the power of music to bring everyone together to honor our veterans, their families, and their communities,” said McBride. “DAV provides important resources year-round to those who have served our country, helping them come home to a more stable environment.”

McBride isn’t the only country artist to team up with the nonprofit organization. Lee Greenwood has served as a celebrity ambassador for DAV for many years.

“We do all we can for the wounded warriors, and for those who are struggling with PTSD. There’s twenty-two suicides a day that we are trying to prevent with different kinds of campaigns. We’ve built homes for wounded warriors through an organization called Helping A Hero,” he told Sounds Like Nashville recently. “This new appointment as Ambassador for DAV is to help make people aware of the new campaign, Keeping The Promise, is not only a big step, but I think also an important one. We cannot ever forget our military is working all the time. This is not anything new. We save a lot of soldiers than we ever have, but a lot more of them are wounded.”
