“I feel like just yesterday I was in high school, so it’s weird for me because time marches on and life keeps going," McBride says.

For almost 25 years, Martina McBride has been reigning over country music as one of the most dominant female voices in the genre. She’s made her legendary mark in the industry and yet she feels as if no time has passed since she started out.

It’s only after McBride looks to her daughters, Delaney, Emma, and Ava, that she notices how far she’s come in her successful life and that time is constantly passing by through it all. As Emma prepared for college this fall, it got McBride thinking about where all of the years have gone and how much has changed.

“I feel like just yesterday I was in high school, so it’s weird for me because time marches on and life keeps going and you have these mile markers, you know these big events that let you know where you are in your life, but I still feel like I’m not there.  But yeah, having Emma graduate, she’s the first one that’s going to be going to college away.  Delaney went to college in Nashville and she still lives here, so it’s a big adjustment, especially now having, like I said, two out of the house.  It is a big adjustment.  I think we’re all gonna walk around a little lost for a while, but I’m really happy for her, and she’s gonna do amazing things,” she explained recently.

This year has truly been a quick and great one for McBride as she announced she would be heading out on the Sarah Cannon Tour in support of Band Against Cancer. She’ll also be on the road for her Love Unleashed Tour in the fall and winter as well, with fellow country acts Haley Whitters and High Valley joining her. Dates and information for those tours are available on McBride’s website HERE.
