Meet Michael Ray’s Newest Band Member, Wrigley
Wrigley might not be the most capable musician, but from the way Ray looks at her, she is going to make him a pretty happy guy.
When Michael Ray signed on to play the 2017 Country LakeShake Festival, he likely had no idea that he’d be expanding his family with a spur of the moment decision. But when a blue-eyed, white Husky mix came into his life, it was love at first sight.
PAWS Chicago, a no-kill animal shelter in the Chicago area, came to LakeShake with several puppies in tow, hoping to find fur-ever homes for them. Festival-goers could come meet the pups and even take one home if the future owner met the adoption requirements.
During his time on site, the Florida native had a chance to bond with the puppies, but took a special liking to the sweet pup. By the end of his time with PAWS Chicago, Ray had bonded so well with the little girl, that he decided she was the perfect dog to join his adventurous life.
“Thank you, PAWS, for making this meeting happen. She’s going to be very loved and very well taken care of,” Ray said in a video posted to Facebook.
Since Ray is a massive Chicago Cubs baseball fan, and because he adopted her while he was in Chicago, he named her Wrigley. He often goes to Cubs games, and he plans on bringing her along to as many as he can.
Ray took to Twitter to introduce his fans to his new addition, saying, “Fam meet the newest member of the band.. WRIGLEY!!! Thank you @PAWSChicago for making this happen!”
