He just banked himself a No. 1 song over the weekend, but Michael Ray is also making moves with a guest star role on an upcoming episode of CMT’s Nashville.

The “Think a Little Less” singer will lend his acting abilities over to the hit television drama series, playing himself during a scene between him and Avery Barkley (Jonathan Jackson). While Ray may not be known to the world of television just yet, his short time on screen is something he admits he’s been through before as a musician a time or two.

“I’ve always wanted to get into acting. Whether it be in church or high school or doing plays,” he recently told Taste of Country Nights.

Getting time to hang out with each of the cast members during his brief work on set, Ray also appreciated the community that they created at the studio and he never skipped a beat while hanging out with his new Nashville pals.

“It’s unbelievable talent and when you’re working with people of that caliber, they just have a great way of reaching out to a guy like me that hasn’t done that in that realm and just making me feel like I was a part of the cast. They were awesome, I’m excited for it to come out,” Ray explained.

The second half of Nashville season five has yet to announce a return date on CMT.
