Stepping onto the scene while admitting their ‘Drinkin’ Problem,” it’s sure to be said that Midland knows a thing or two about how to hold their alcohol.

The country trio took a traditional approach to a tongue-in-cheek lyric to introduce themselves on a real level, and now they’re taking it to the next step by offering up how they avoid the bottle flu at all costs. Taking the high-end route, Cameron Duddy of the trio spilled that his secrets lies within the top brands of liquor one can find on the shelf.

“The problem is that there is no real way around … drink really good Mezcal or good fill in the blank. Try and get top shelf stuff. If you can’t afford that, drink a lot of water before you go to bed. Or you just don’t drink but that’s not fun,” Duddy said.

On the other hand, Mark Wystrach sticks to the well-known rumor of covering up the hangover woes with, well, more alcohol… if you can stomach it.

“This is for Mom, Mom if you’re listening I think the band rule is that everything in moderation, including moderation sometimes,” explained Wystrach. “And sometimes you’re going to have those, you know, you’ve got to celebrate the little victories along this way and sometimes you get carried away with friends and it gets a little wild. So, there’s gonna be those days there’s not too much of a cure for that. You just have to white knuckle it through it. And when all else fails there is one age old fail-safe, the Bloody Mary and it’s the hair of the dog as they say. So you got to have one or two and jump right back on it.”

Midland’s current single, “Drinkin’ Problem,” is climbing up the country radio charts. Their debut album is set for release this fall.
