Stop whatever you are doing right now: Miranda Lambert is bringing puppies to CMA Fest for fans to adopt.

MuttNation Foundation, a group Lambert created to find homes for rescue dogs, was helping out at a hoarding situation recently and rescued 54 Chihuahua and Chihuahua mix puppies. Instead of sending them to a pound or leaving them in the unhealthy home, they decided to pack them all up for the fun folks attending CMA Fest to take back home with them as the ultimate souvenir.

While the dogs range in age from pups to seniors, they’re all looking for a safe place to call home and families that will love on them unconditionally after the pain they’ve suffered.

“MuttNation is coming to CMA Fest, and we’re just going to try and bring awareness and get these dogs adopted,” Lambert said. “Luckily they are Chihuahuas and everybody wants a cute little dog. I’m really glad that they caught them in time. It’s so sad. You see little dogs that have never had any love or care and you think, ‘Oh my God, is there 50 loving homes out there for these babies?’”

Lambert, who is very passionate about animals, is excited that she can bring her two loves of music and dogs together at one great event like CMA Fest.

“To be able to have this platform to go, ‘Hey, I’m performing and thank you all for being faithful fans all these years, but also here’s this cause that’s near and dear to my heart and has real meaning,’ is so great,” Lambert said. “I like the fact we can bring the mobile unit and have a presence and just combine the two worlds.”

The dogs will be located inside Fan Fair X among many other canine rescue operations. The adoption fees for every dog are $100, and includes spay/neuter, all shots, a vet check and a location microchip.
