The votes are in and the country community has dubbed Miranda Lambert as the CMA Female Vocalist of the Year at the 51st Annual CMA Awards. This is the singer’s seventh win in the category. As she took the podium to receive her trophy, she complimented fellow nominee Carrie Underwood on her powerful performance moments earlier.

“Thank y’all so much,” Lambert said. “Carrie, you just destroyed me and I just want to say that more than any other year I’ve ever been a part of the CMA Awards, I feel truly like there’s a family in this room tonight. I feel like we’re bonded together and banded together more than we have ever been and I feel like country music is winning right now so thank you CMA and thank you fans. Thank you to everybody in this room. I love all of you so much, thank you.”

The other women honored with a CMA Female Vocalist of the Year nomination were Kelsea Ballerini, Reba, Maren Morris, and Carrie Underwood.

The 51st Annual CMA Awards are hosted by Underwood and Brad Paisley for the 10th year in a row. See all of the awards and accolades handed out at tonight’s show by checking out posts HERE.
